A brief history of the TV Tower@@@¨TOP

Construction of the TV Tower, which took place night and day, began on September 19, 1953, and was completed on June 19, 1954.

 

This is a picture of the TV Tower and its surroundings at the time of its completion.

It is impressive that the skyline of Sakae, Nagoyafs central area, which is today obstructed by tall buildings, can be seen over a wide area here.

 

This picture shows the TV Tower on the first day it was opened to the public.

Many people came and formed a long line to be the ones to go up the first broadcasting steel tower in Japan.

 

This is a picture of the TV Tower and its surroundings in the present day.  This view of the TV Tower, together with Hisaya Odori Park colored with tints of the seasons, is exceptional in a large city such as Nagoya.
